Note: Building a plant structure is useful when a complete grid with an essential number of IEDs has to be built.

Create a new plant structure in one of the alternative ways.
- Right-click the Plant Structure view, point to New and select Create from Template.
- Right-click the Plant Structure view, point to New and select General and select the element either IED Group or Substation.

On the View menu, select Object Types.

Select the needed elements and drag them into the plant structure.

Rename each level in the structure by the names/identifications used in the grid.
- Right-click the level and select Rename.
- Rename the levels in the Object Properties view.
