SSC600 Cyber Security Deployment Guideline

The protection device supports encrypted communication according to the principles of IEC 62351 in secured communication for WHMI and file transfer. Secure Communication is enabled by default and protocols therefore require TLS protocol based encryption method support from the clients. In this case WHMI must be connected from a Web browser using the HTTPS protocol. In case of file transfer, the client must use FTPS. PCM600 supports FTPS and is able to download and upload configuration files in encrypted communication channel from device. Some industry related protocols such as IEC 60870-5-104 and MMS are implemented according to the respective standards without secure communication. It’s essential to consider hardening as described in Basic system hardening rules.
