REX640 Engineering Manual

Manual configuration of the autosynchronization scheme in PCM600 is time-consuming and complex in case the system contains both generator circuit breakers and non-generator circuit breakers, that is, non-source circuit breakers. Configure Autosynchronization in PCM600 can be used to simplify the configuration process. The autosynchronization scheme for a given project can be configured via user-understandable terminologies regarding the system to understand the network topology.

The relay supports synchronizing of GCBs and NSCBs, such as grid connection or bus coupler circuit breakers, by providing dedicated function blocks to perform the synchronization process.

  • ASGCSYN is used for GCB synchronization.
  • ASNSCSYN is used for NSCB synchronization.
  • ASCGAPC is a coordination function that handles the control request and allows communication among the relays connected to the autosynchronization system.

Configure Autosynchronization generates a configuration with IEC61850-8-1 GOOSE engineering, function block parameters in Parameter Setting and relevant connections in Application Configuration for ASGCSYN, ASNSCSYN and ASCGAPC. Further, the tool displays the configured network topology as an SLD preview.
