REX610 Technical Manual

The protection relay has the capacity to store the records of 32 latest fault events. Each fault event is kept in the relay as fault records and are prepared using the RMS values of the signal.

The fault record enables the user to analyze recent power system events. Each fault record is marked with important values like an up-counting fault number, fault startup time, fault end time and various other parameters from the relay.

The fault recorded data, operate time shows the time of the actual fault period. This value is the time difference between FR Start instance and FR End instance in seconds with milliseconds resolution. The actual operate time also includes the starting time and the delay of the output relay.

The fault-related current and voltage values are taken from the moment of the operate event or from the beginning of the fault if only start event occurs during the fault.

The maximum current value collects the maximum fault current during the fault.

Note:
  1. Relay has capacity to store 32 fault records using a FIFO. Once FIFO is full, oldest record will be deleted to store the new one.
  2. Fault recording works on the concept of FR Start instance and FR End instance.
  3. FR Start instance is defined as the instance when the fault recording starts.
  4. FR End instance is defined as the instance when the fault recording is stopped and recorded data is available in the relay.
  5. FR Start instance is the instance of start event in any protection function. FR End instance is the instance of either protection function operates, or the start is restored, whichever happens first.
  6. No fault record will be created if Block input is high during FR Start and FR End instance.
  7. Fault records shall be created only when FR function block is configured in ACT and its operation is set to ON.
  8. No fault record will be created if Block input is high during FR End instance.
