REX610 1.1 and higher versions support a new optional module ARC2001 3 Channel Arc protection. The user can upgrade an REX610 1.0 to REX610 1.1 or higher and configure the ARC module and enable ARC protection. Users with REX610 1.1 or higher versions without an ARC module can also upgrade the relay to enable ARC protection.
This section explains a step by step procedure for a user to upgrade the relay from REX610 1.0 to REX610 1.1 or higher. It considers two scenarios in general:
- Scenario 1: Relay upgrade without change in HW configuration. For this, refer to the Engineering manual sections on Firmware update and Configuration migration.
- Scenario 2: Relay upgrade including HW configuration upgrade. For this scenario, the steps below explain the procedure to add an ARC module and upgrade an REX610 1.0 to REX610 1.1 or higher with ARC protection.
If relay instance of REX610 1.0 is available in PCM600, carry out a PCM600 common read operation to take a backup of the configuration.
- Once the ARC module is inserted and above steps are completed, refer to Operational manual on background light compensation to follow the steps to record background light for every sensor installed.
- Make any adjustments, if necessary, to the settings and make sure the final configurations is written to the relay using the Common write procedure.
Note: After factory reset, IED will be changed to default IP(192.168.2.10). Keeping default IP (192.168.2.10). It is mandatory to perform a common write operation before performing the firmware update operation.
