Figure 4. Selecting the package type Figure 5. Selecting file location
Select the package file.
If firmware update is selected, browse for the package file with format REX610_V_X_X_X.cab , where X is the major, middle, minor number of package versions. For e.g., select REX610_1_1_0.cab if a REX610 1.0 is being upgraded to REX610 1.1.
If language update is selected, browse for the package file with format Lang_XXXX.zip, where XXXX is the language of the package.
If Package version is not compatible, the pop up window below will show up.
Figure 6. Firmware update is not allowed
Note: If selected package version is lower than the relay version, the tool will show an error as downgrade is not possible.
The message below will show up when the Firmware package version is compatible with the Connectivity package installed and is equal to the relay version.
Figure 7. Selected package version matched with relay version
When firmware package version is compatible and Connected Relay version is matching with PCM600 instance version, the screen below will be displayed.
Figure 8. Configuration backup
The firmware update can be cancelled if a backup configuration from the relay needs to be taken by clicking the Yes in the pop-up shown to the user and clicking the Cancel button in the Firmware update wizard.
Click No in the Configuration backup pop-up if a backup configuration from the relay is not needed to proceed with the Firmware Update.

Note:
When upgrading a relay from a lower version to a higher version, the user can either follow Firmware update to the relay using FUT tool and Configuration migration using ICM tool of PCM600 in this order
OR
Configuration migration using ICM tool and Firmware update to the relay using FUT tool of PCM600 in this order.
If the first approach is taken, the user will come across the following screen in Figure 13 and if the second approach is taken, the user will come across the following screen in Figure 14.

After the relay upgrade with the new firmware, a factory setting restoration needs to be performed in the relay from LHMI path Configuration > General > Factory setting for the updated firmware to take effect and for enabling the newer functions and settings.
Note:
Upgrading relay from an older version to a newer version
If the relay is upgraded by adding a new HW module, the HWT tool should be updated (see Adding or removing hardware cards) after the configuration migration is completed. This will ensure Hardware composition is aligned with the actual relay hardware.
