The firmware update tool is used for updating the relay’s system firmware and adding display languages to the relay. Update packages are provided by Customer Support. The firmware update is done locally when the relay is connected to the network.

In REX610 devices, firmware update can be done to get latest updates and SW enhancements which may be used to upgrade the relay to a higher version that may support additional HW modules also. For e.g., a user with REX610 1.0 relay can upgrade the relay to REX610 1.1 firmware and use the same configuration or add ARC module additionally to enable ARC protection.

It is recommended to take a backup of the relay configuration before starting the update. This can be done by using the common read feature in PCM600 from a relay connected to the network. The user needs to be authorized before using PCM600. User credentials are asked if the default administrator password has been changed. For firmware and language update, users with the system update right are allowed.

Note: Downgrading of relay Firmware is not supported.
