Local update
- Use of the front port is recommended when updating locally. Remove the IED from the network especially with redundant network topologies (HSR/ PRP).
Remote update
- Communication is recommended to be secured either by setting up a VPN connection or enabling secure communication in the IED via LHMI () while updating remotely.
- Remote update can be enabled in the IED either via the LHMI () or by an administrator in the Parameter Setting tool in PCM600 ( to be able to update remotely. If the IED is in local control mode, remote update proceeds only after a confirmation is received from the user.
- Remote update has to be disabled manually after the update, if wanted.
- Remote update only works when the IED is connected from the rear port with a custom IP address.
